Cozy Nest Kost in Alam Sutera runs its rooms, tenants, bills and waiting list on Cozy Kost, the boarding-house software we built and run for them.
Running a kost sounds simple until the end of the month. Some tenants pay by transfer, some in cash, some late. Someone moves rooms halfway through a month. A receipt is needed today. And when every room is taken, new people keep messaging on WhatsApp asking for one.
With all of that spread across notebooks and chats, it was slow to check and easy to get wrong. The owners wanted the numbers in one place, and a way to keep people who asked for a room from drifting off to another kost.
A full list of rooms and tenants, room transfers that can be undone, and a home screen agenda of what needs attention today.
Monthly bills are calculated by the system, receipts are issued on the spot, and input mistakes can be corrected without breaking the books.
Cash and bank transfers are tracked separately, with cash deposits recorded, so the owner always knows where the money is.
When the kost is full, prospective tenants leave just their name and WhatsApp number through a public link, and land straight in the waiting list.
Reports by date range or per room, plus WhatsApp announcements to tenants from the same screen.
Several owners and staff, each with their own role, and a built-in help menu that explains every task step by step.
Each room gets its own login, a weekly data allowance and a device limit. If rent is overdue, the connection slows down first and then pauses. We are still designing this part.
